Hang up your suit. Put away your pumps. Grab your imagination and join us for a storytelling adventure. Welcome to the Treehouse, a discovery destination for alumni brought to you by the Harry L. Davis Center for Leadership.

Treehouse provides a fun space for members of the Booth community to explore, connect, stretch and share your non-professional interests. The Davis Center believes that leadership is a life-long pursuit that involves continual learning from conventional and sometimes unconventional sources.

By sharing what they love to do outside of work and engaging in new forms of learning, individuals can discover fresh insights that can deepen their impact both professionally and personally.

We look forward to welcoming several six minute presentations from members of the Booth community about leadership lessons derived from their interests outside of work. Our speakers include:

  • Klariza Alvaran, '18, will share her passion for science fiction writing

  • Brigitte Anderson, '08, will discuss the value she gets from connecting with artists and performers

  • Susan Chamberlin, '13, will share what she has learned from her outdoor exploration adventures

  • Julie DeLoyd, ’11 will perform sharing her passion for folk music and performing

  • Sam Mittal, '16, will discuss how improv builds his consciousness and creativity

  • Lars Stole, the David W. Johnson Professor of Economics, will discuss his interest in woodworking

Professor Harry Davis, Roger L. and Rachel M. Goetz Distinguished Service Professor of Creative Management, Chicago Booth, will moderate a brief panel discusion at the conclusion of the presentations.

Treehouse is for both novices and experts. The emphasis here is on creative exchange, not level of mastery. You can view videos of presentations from the inaugural Treehouse event in June 2017 here.
